The civilisational story behind Cosmetics Products.
Ancient India documented beauty and body care with remarkable sophistication. Ayurvedic and classical sources describe abhyanga (oil massage), ubtan face and body packs, kajal, herbal hair oils, and botanical pastes using turmeric, sandalwood, saffron, amla, hibiscus and rose. Texts and court traditions prized fragrant oils and skin rituals as daily and ceremonial practice — not vanity alone, but balance of body and mind. The Indus–Saraswati cultural world and later classical ages left a continuous aesthetic of natural adornment that still shapes Indian herbal cosmetics. When the world seeks “clean” and botanical beauty, it is often returning to ideas India practised for centuries.
